Another home sold
Just closed escrow on a great home once again for my clients. In this situation I was representing the seller in this transaction and was able to find a buyer that offered full price and was very cooperative in that we were able to close escrow in 21 days! It was an amazing feeling when I told the man, his wife and kids that their home was sold so quickly. “Your kidding me? It’s sold?” he responded. “Yes it is sold, for full price.” “Everything’s done? Your sure? It’s sold?” he replied. “Yes.” What followed was a combination of ecstatic happiness followed with shrieking and hollering. It was truly a sight to see. The kids even joined in too! It’s moments like these that remind me why I am in the business. Upon leaving the home and exchanging hugs one last time, I got into my car and headed back to my office. On the drive back I found myself going back to the moments in the deal that had been anything but ecstatic, many times confrontational.
I thought to myself not just in this situation but the many other deals I had done and how sometimes in the real estate business things can get out of control and even hectic. This can weigh on anyone who is put through such pressure and guidelines to perform and especially nowadays with the real estate sector weeding out the weak agents from the strong ones. If an agent has gone through deals where they have not been able to see the reward behind it they may begin to feel that this line of business is not worth it. The calls, the meetings, the highs, the lows and the deal can still even fall through after all of that. At that moment I received a call from the family that I just left after telling them the house was sold. “Sarah! Hey! It’s me Al, hey from Alice and the kids and I we just wanted to say thank you so much for all the hardwork you did and believing we could sell the house even when we were in doubt. We all just wanted to tell you thank you so much and if there is anything you ever need, please, give us a call.” My heart melted. “Not a problem Al, and thank you so much that means a lot. I’ll be in touch.” We said our goodbyes and I hung up the phone. Then I thought to myself, Nah, totally worth it.
